Multi-disciplinary Groupshow

Taking inspiration from a quote by Joan Didion, PROXI PROJECT’s immersive exhibition There Was a Sense that No One Was Going to Leave the Room, Ever explores a recent iteration of our 21st century normal. Many have experienced the past few months as myopically domestic, isolating, paralyzingly static, restricted and anxiety-ridden. Taking a site-sensitive approach, the exhibition encourages a group of multi-disciplinary artists to hold space for these emotional and psychological states and situate them in the heterotopic non-space of an off-season hotel, creating multi-sensory environments that reflect the works' presentist possibilities.
